Be prepared for anything: Remember, no matter how much you do to prepare for the NCLEX, nothing can guarantee your passing score. At this point, you’ve done all of the studying that you can do and now it’s time to be confident in what you know and go into the exam without being consumed by anxiety. The best way to pass is to focus on what you can control, which is your preparation up until test day.
Uworld is harder than Nclex because Uworld questions (and the testlets) are not meant to be a perfect representation of what will be on your NCLEX exam. Instead, they are designed to teach you how to think critically about what’s being asked of you and how to answer it correctly every time.
Avoid thinking that a high Uworld predicted passing score means you will do well on the NUCLEX. The Uworld predicted passing score is based on your performance on practice exams. Your actual test performance may be different, as your practice exam scores represent only how good you are at taking the practice exams.
UWorld is more like a computer program than it is like the NCLEX. The NCLEX is an extremely simple format, test takers can’t easily get distracted or confused by the design of the exam. Students often find this comforting and it allows them to focus on the questions themselves without worrying about the environment in which they are taking the test.
Then, you might get an easier one like our protagonist did above. However, because the preceding questions were so hard, that easy one will probably not make too much difference to your score as long as you answered it correctly. With this in mind, although studying for these two exams may seem worlds apart (pun intended), there are some similarities between them and some lessons from UWorld that can be applied to your NCLEX preparation.
