All Mannington Vinyl Flooring Is FloorScore Certified Low-VOC Flooring

All Mannington vinyl flooring is FloorScore-certified as low-VOC flooring.

Why does this matter? Volatile organic compounds (or VOCs) are considered harmful to both people and pets by the EPA, and they’re upsettingly common in flooring (especially synthetic floors like LVP).

As such, Mannington strives to incorporate as many health-conscious and eco-friendly flooring practices into its production as possible, something that’s pretty difficult for LVP (which is actually one of the few disadvantages of vinyl plank flooring).

The cool thing: they actually do a good job. Unlike most other vinyl plank flooring brands, Mannington’s low-VOC vinyl flooring incorporates a high percentage of recycled materials. This is unusual because, most of the time, recycled floors actually release higher amounts of VOCs.

Now, we still wouldn’t go so far as to say that Mannington vinyl flooring is environmentally friendly flooring (it’s still plastic), but it does go further than many other vinyl brands. So, if you really want an even more Earth-friendly flooring, you’d have to go with a softwood like Douglas fir flooring or even hemp flooring instead.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) Are Mostly the Same

Luxury vinyl comes in two main forms: plank (LVP) and tile (LVT).

Some vinyl plank flooring brands make their LVP and LVT differently, but for the most part, the only real difference is their look. A general tip (with many exceptions): LVP often mimics different types of wood flooring, while LVT mimics different types of tile or stone floors.

Note: since Mannington vinyl flooring comes in both LVP and LVT styles, we’ll be sure to say which version we’re talking about to clear up any confusion!

Disadvantages of Mannington Vinyl Flooring
