Samsung Washer Pure Cycle

When it comes to doing laundry, most of us toss in our jeans and T-shirts, start the Normal cycle, and call it a day. But your Samsung washing machine can do so much more: its programmed with customizable features that, when used optimally, ensure your clothes and linens emerge spotless every time. Use the right cycle, and your garments will keep their vibrant color and last much longer.

Note: Cycles, settings, and features vary by model. For product specific information, please see your user manual.

All of the different options on your washer can seem overwhelming, so weve created a breakdown of what theyre used for and how they work.

Once you know what all the different terms mean, youll be ready to run a cycle on your washing machine. Before you begin, make sure you load the washer, add detergent and other additives, know which cycle and settings you want to use, and then close the door.

If your top load washer has an Active WaterJet, you can pretreat your clothes using the built-in faucet. Touch the Active WaterJet button to turn on the faucet, and then touch the button again to stop the water. Then, touch the Power button on the washing machine to drain the tub before beginning a cycle.

Run a Self Clean or Pure Cycle to clean the interior

Self Clean (also called Pure Cycle or Self Clean+) is a special cycle that prevents mold. Its designed to clean areas of the tub where moisture and detergent residue may accumulate. A normal cycle may not be able to reach these areas. It takes approximately one hour to run Self Clean on a top load washer and four hours to run Self Clean on a front load washer. After the Self Clean begins, the estimated remaining time will display.

  • To run a Self Clean cycle, make sure the washer is empty, press Self Clean, and then press Start.
  • You dont need to add any cleaner when running self clean. However, we do recommend using bleach if you already have an existing mold smell (see our guide for details).
  • If you notice suds or residue in the washer tub during the Self Clean cycle, we recommend running another Self Clean cycle afterwards. The Self Clean reminder LED will display after 20 washes on a top load model or 40 washes on a front load model. Although you do not need to run a Self Clean cycle immediately after the reminder appears, we recommend that you run one at your earliest opportunity. Its also a good idea to run one at least once per month if you do not do many washes in a month.

When moisture or other residue (such as leftover detergent or other additives) is trapped in a dark place, it may promote the growth of mold and mildew and may cause unpleasant odors. If your Samsung washing machine has visible mold or a mildew smell, let us show you how to take care of it.
