What Episode Did Ghost Die In Power

Season 6 episode 10 of the series ended back in November with protagonist Ghost being shot in his nightclub Truth – and the next five episodes will finally unveil the truth (get it?) behind the shooting.

Fans of the hit STARZ show knew the next five episodes would be told from the perspective of each of the suspects, and by the end of this episode, two of the characters are ruled out as being Ghost’s killer.

The episode opens with Dre and his baby, Heaven, with the doting dad singing ‘Rise and Shine’ to her (he’s been spending too much time on Kylie Jenner’s Instagram).

The following scenes also reveal his baby mum – a woman from London who wants him to leave the drug life in New York and start afresh in Las Vegas.

But Dre is set on ‘owning New York’ – a stark contrast to Tasha who pushed Ghost further into the drug game in season one to fund her love for shopping and brunches.

It’s not long before Dre has formed his own crew, and we’re not even ten minutes into the episode and it’s all guns blazing (literally) as they’re attacked by the Serbs (I’ve missed this).

The violent scenes end up seeing Dre shot causing him to think that starting a new life in Vegas may not be such a bad idea after all. But he needs one thing – money, and a lot of it too.

And who do we run to when we need quick cash? Mummy. But she tells him where to go and Dre needs to think and act fast.

Meanwhile, Tommy’s right hand men, 2-Bit and Spanky are being questioned by Rodriguez but neither of them agree to dish the dirt on him.

In a bid to grab some cash Dre blackmails her saying he knows Tariq is dealing and he can tell the cops.

But in true Tasha style she tries to outsmart him before realising she has to give into his demands.

Dre meets up with Tariq, who asks for a piece (a gun) before leading him to his Dad’s office at Truth.

At this point, Dre has no motive to kill James right? But Ghost is smarter than that and looks on as Dre is arrested for the murder of Jason.

So I guess he does have a motive now. But being in jail isn’t enough for Ghost as he gets in touch with 2-Bit and says he will take care of his family financially if he finishes off Dre.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez is still digging for dirt on Ghost (she’s been hanging around Saxe too much). Dre tells her he ‘saw’ Ghost kill Terry Silver which Rodriguez conveniently helps him to remember.

While in witness protection he escapes to his Mum’s house to steal her jewellery, but is stopped and held at gunpoint by her. Does absolutely everyone own a gun in this show?

Councilman Tate seems to be his last hope as he offers him $100,000 in exchange for killing Ghost. Dre (or shall I say Eric) takes the cash and sets out to complete his task.

But his baby mum makes him realise they could set off to Vegas WITHOUT him killing Ghost, as Tate could never come after them as he’s the one who provided them with the fake IDs – I knew she would come in handy somewhere in the episode.

But Dre has a last minute change of heart and as he goes to shoot Ghost he hears a gunshot. So that’s him out of the equation.

As he leaves he bumps into Rodriguez – another suspect down. He then stops off at a petrol station and sees on the news that James St Patrick has been murdered. I guess this is confirmation he’s dead. But confirming this as early as episode one seems a bit too early for me…

The feds come for him and just like that he’s back in the orange jumpsuit and 2-Bit and Spanky seize the opportunity to finish him off once and for all in prison – despite Dre telling them Ghost is dead.

The next morning, Spanky decides to testify against Tommy leaving 2-Bit in prison alone. Is Tommy going to finally get what’s coming to him?

Ramona (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) is not an official suspect, but that has not stopped fans piecing together theories that she is hiding in plain sight as Ghosts killer. The episode adds more to this theory. For exmaple, Tommy looks very surprised when he sees who it was who killed Ghost, suggesting it is someone who nobody suspects, and Ghost may have told Tommy to “let it go” because in Season 6 he has slowly fallen in love with the canny campaign manager.

With just two episodes of Power left, however, fans are soon to find out exactly who it was that shot Ghost and whether Tommy is ever able to “let it go.”

However, when Ghost died, he told Tommy, “let it go,” one of our biggest clues yet as to his shooter. Power Season 6, Episode 13 was an episode full of revenge.

While Power Season 6, Episode 13 showed why Tommy did not kill Ghost, it offered many reasons why Tariq might have. First among these was when Tommy was on his way to save Ghost and asked for Riqs help. Tariq refused to help save his fathers life, suggesting he may have been unwilling to save Ghosts life because he actually had plans to kill him. Again, Ghost may have told Tommy to “let it go” because he realises it is his fault that Tariq has taken the path he has and so does not want Tommy to murder him for it.

As such, it suggests that Ghost does not want Tommy to try and kill the person who shot Ghost because it is someone very close to Ghost—a romantic partner, a family member, or both. This leaves us with two (or potentially three) suspects:

Meanwhile, Tommy’s right hand men, 2-Bit and Spanky are being questioned by Rodriguez but neither of them agree to dish the dirt on him.

So I guess he does have a motive now. But being in jail isn’t enough for Ghost as he gets in touch with 2-Bit and says he will take care of his family financially if he finishes off Dre.

And who do we run to when we need quick cash? Mummy. But she tells him where to go and Dre needs to think and act fast.

The next morning, Spanky decides to testify against Tommy leaving 2-Bit in prison alone. Is Tommy going to finally get what’s coming to him?

Meanwhile, Rodriguez is still digging for dirt on Ghost (she’s been hanging around Saxe too much). Dre tells her he ‘saw’ Ghost kill Terry Silver which Rodriguez conveniently helps him to remember.

Tommy seemed like the obvious candidate for Ghost’s murder. After all, he came to believe that Ghost ratted on him by revealing the location of his drugs warehouse to the feds, in turn shutting down the whole operation (this is why Tommy’s primeras Spanky and 2-Bit end up behind bars). In short, Tommy learns that it was Dre who was responsible for the warehouse raid. “I was wrong about my brother. Now he’s in trouble, and I gotta help him out,” Egan says of Ghost in episode 13. Later, we see Tommy comfort Ghost in a pool of blood on his nightclub floor. Before he leaves for California he shoots Spanky, who fessed up to the authorities to get out of jail, and drives off for a new life.

Tasha assures Quinton, who suspects Ghost was the one who physically hurt her, that he doesn’t need to protect her. “I can handle him on my own,” Tasha insists to him.

Tariq, Tasha, Tommy and Ghost are also in on a pact in which they framed Kanan (an old business associate of Ghost and Tommy’s, played by 50 Cent) for the murder of dirty cop Raymond “Ray Ray” Jones in Season 3. Jones killed Tariq’s twin sister, Raina, when she said she knew of his illicit practices (which included robbing rich people’s houses with the help of her brother). Tariq saw Ray Ray pull the trigger. He eventually shoots Ray Ray dead after locating him in a hideout property before his father, Ghost, can stop him.

Ghost frames his rival Dre for killing drug trafficker Jason Micic (which Ghost had done). Dre plans to escape NYC with his girlfriend and their young daughter but needs cash to go off grid. Fortunately councilman Rashad Tate – fresh from learning that Ghost had abandoned his campaign to be Lorette Walsh’s gubernatorial running mate instead – seeks revenge on his nemesis. He gives Dre a new identity and pays him to shoot St. Patrick at his nightclub shortly after a party is held there to celebrate the new St. Patrick/Walsh partnership. But Dre hears a gunshot inside the club before he can make his move and flees in a panic, fearing that it could look like he killed Ghost.

He is spotted exiting the club at the back by NYPD detective Blanca Rodriguez (who is working on putting Ghost behind bars for the murder of his own lawyer, Terry Silver). Dre punches her and makes his escape in his car with his family. The cocky character thinks he’s got away with everything until he is arrested at a gas station. After he is locked up again – this time on suspicion of shooting St. Patrick – Spanky and 2-Bit (two drug-dealers working under Tommy Egan, who is Ghost’s former best friend and business partner) set about making good on their agreement made with Ghost before he died to kill Dre inside prison. Spanky and 2-Bit set Dre’s solitary confinement prison cell on fire while he’s inside.
