Option 1: Build and Deploy Pumps
Slime Science allows players to construct a number of resource harvesting gadgets which can be deployed around the Far Far Range to gather resources, such as the Drill, Apiary, and Pump. These come in a variety of different qualities and can be deployed to harvest resources from a region. Each extractor takes 12 in-game hours to complete a single cycle. Higher quality extractors perform more cycles before breaking and have higher chances of extracting higher quality resources.
The Pump is the extractor needed to acquire Deep Brine, and can be crafted using 10 pink plorts, 6 tabby plorts, and 3 boom plorts. Higher quality pumps will allow for more efficient harvesting, but as Deep Brine is a common resource, there shouldnt be much difficulty acquiring it using the basic Pump. Acquiring the Novice Pump blueprint requires players to gain access to the Lab expansion for the Ranch by paying 10,000 newbucks, and then spend 500 newbucks to unlock the blueprint at the builder shop.
Once players have access to a Pump, Deep Brine can be acquired by deploying the Pump at The Dry Reef. This is the only location where the Pump will yield Deep Brine.
Deep Brines name may come from the term “Deep-sea Brine pools”, which are lakes of highly salinated water, or water with high concentrations of dissolved salt, that are formed when water becomes more dense than the surrounding ocean and settles on the seafloor, usually in craters. Due to its high salinity, this water can be toxic to surrounding marine life. Many kinds of brine lakes exist and depending on the type of brine lake, they may be extracted for the resources they can contain through a process called brine mining. The Deep Brines Slimepedia tagline – “Salt of the earth kind of stuff.” – is a pun on the phrase Salt of the Earth.
