Can I Cook A Beef Brisket In An Air Fryer

When air fryer corned beef turns out so tender and delicious, you may find yourself wanting to make this St. Patrick’s Day classic all year round!

Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day where you’re from? While it seems to be more popular in the northern part of the country, I still think this air fryer corned beef recipe is one everyone needs to try!

The meat turns out so tender, juicy, and delicious, I just know I’m going to be craving it all year round. And thanks to the air fryer, prep couldn’t be easier! Can you believe the hands-on time for this recipe is only about 10 minutes?

Yes, you can. Beef brisket in the air fryer is AMAZING and is a cut of roast beef, that is a must for air frying. You can cook brisket in an air fryer on its own, or pair it up with potatoes and vegetables if you prefer.

Slow Cooked Beef Brisket in Air Fryer

Ok here we go my friends. I have a quick step by step here but you can print the recipe card at the bottom too.

  • Mix together spices and brown sugar and rub on brisket.
    • Place brisket in preheated air fryer, fat cap side up, and cook at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Lift out meat at this time. Place brisket in foil, fat cap side up.
    • The best way to wrap the brisket is to place two pieces of foil that cross over each other.
    • Pour in broth. Fold up the sides so that the beef stock / broth will not leak out.
  • Place again in air fryer and cook at 300° for 2 hours or until thickest part of brisket temp registers 195°. (timing will vary depending on size and thickness of meat)
  • Remove, allow to rest for 10 to 20 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving with broth over the top.
  • I am currently working on the “other brisket”, corned beef brisket and will share that very soon as well in case you want to make both. St. Patricks Day just isn’t right without either one of these with air fryer cabbage on the side.

How to Cook Beef Brisket in an Instant Pot

This easy cooking method ensures a delicious and tender brisket every time.

    Start in the Instant Pot

  • Cut a 4 lb brisket into 2 pieces to ensure the Instant Pot isn’t overcrowded.
  • Prepare brisket with seasonings and refrigerate overnight.
  • Lay meat on top of a raft of onions in the Instant Pot and cook as directed in the recipe below.
  • Finish in the Air Fryer

  • Brush brisket with BBQ sauce and finish in the air fryer.
  • Let brisket rest at least 10 minutes before cutting.
  • Place the brisket fat side up on top of the onions in the Instant Pot to protect the meat from sticking to the bottom of the pot and also to help the fat infuse into the meat.
  • Add cut-up potatoes and carrots, too!
  • Don’t be afraid to be generous with the seasonings and sauce—for a brisket, there’s no such thing as too much!
  • Cut the roast in half, prep, and keep in the refrigerator overnight. This allows the seasonings to permeate the meat and prepares it for cooking.

Cook in advance, slice, and keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to add to all kinds of delish dishes like these brisket nachos! Freeze slices between sheets of parchment paper for up to 8 weeks.

    How to Cut Corned Beef

You always want to cut corned beef against the grain. When slicing, look for the thin lines of muscle fiber running through the meat, then slice perpendicular to them.

Cutting against the grain shortens the muscle fibers, which will make the meat easier to chew. Thinner slices will also be more tender than thicker ones.
