How To Make A Floating Cooler With Pool Noodles?

How to Make a Floating Cooler

Did you know you can make a floating cooler for just a few bucks and a pool noodle? Yep, just a pool noodle and a few household items (that you may even already have!) and BOOM! You’ve got yourself a floating cooler that you can use over and over again.

1. Take your tub and measure each side.

2. Pool noodles should be cut to the appropriate lengths for each side of the tub.

3. Feed the twine through the parts of the noodle and tie to secure.

4. Tuck the ends of the rope back into the noodles.

Voila! You’ve got yourself a floating cooler. Although the water should help keep the cans cool (as long as it’s not HOT), I do advise covering it with a towel to prevent the sun from baking them. Our tub can accommodate a sturdy 12-pack of 12-ounce cans. Love it!.

Tada! Now mom can relax in the cool water with a cool beverage in hand while the kids are having fun swimming. Cheers! If you make one, be sure to use the hashtag #HeartHookHome on social media to tag me so I can see you rocking yours too!

I don’t know about you but I’m needing a new pool raft to go with that floating cooler and I’m thinking this one looks just a little like heaven!

Since I was a young child, I have always had a pool to swim in during the summer. Since my next-door neighbors had a pool, I frequently spent the summer at pool parties at friends’ homes. Naturally, I also had a pool in my own backyard. I dressed up as a little mermaid every summer and went swimming until my fingers and toes wrinkled into tiny, peach prunes.

For an extra special touch, fill this pool noodle floating cooler with drinks and use it for your next pool party!

I used to spend a lot more time in the water, but not anymore. I still enjoy diving into the water to cool off on a scorching Summer day, even though I no longer play games of Marco Polo, create whirlpools, or race to the edge.

This year’s summer is supposed to be hot and muggy, so I’ll probably don my bathing suit at least a couple of times. Since I intend to use the family pool, I suppose I should at least bring something. I’ll supply the cooler and drinks, and they’ll supply the pool and raft.

We are fortunate to have family who own swimming pools because we don’t (or even have the space in our yard to consider buying one). My parents, who don’t live too far from us, also have a pool, and my sister-in-law has one as well.

Attach the Fin to the Cooler

Glue the fin with hot glue to the cooler’s lid’s center.

Use a dark gray and primer spray paint to coat the lid and fin. Let dry.

With a large, sharp knife, fit the pool noodles around the cooler and cut the corners at a 45-degree angle (see examples 1 and 2). The cooler should be surrounded by four pieces.

To connect all four (s 1 and 2), cut the hook off one end of a bungee cord and loop it through the holes in the pool noodles. (Sections 3 and 4) Tie the cut end of the bungee cord to the hook at the opposite end. Adjust the noodles to hid the knot. Repeat all steps to make a second rectangle of noodles.

Place the two rectangles of noodles on top of one another and tie four zip ties around the top noodles near each corner. Then, to join the two stacks together, pass a second zip tie through each of the top zip ties and loop it around the bottom row of noodles (s.

Pull the pool noodles up halfway around the cooler and enclose it in them. On both sides of the cooler, close to the handle, fasten a zip tie to the top pool noodle. To join them, thread a zip tie through the handle’s ends and the pool noodle’s zip tie (3). Trim the ends of the zip ties (5) and tighten them (4).

Place the cooler in the pool with the drinks inside to float around.

How do you make a floating cooler for a pool?

But the following time, you can construct a floating cooler that you can bob around in the water with using pool noodles and a plastic storage container. No one will ever need to exit the pool again if you build a floating cooler; unless it’s time to use the restroom, that is. (Something we strongly encourage!).
