This garlic alfredo sauce’s creamy texture is essential, so I want to make sure you always get it just right. Stir in some of the starchy pasta water to reunite the sauce if it seems to be “breaking” or separating in any way. A separated sauce usually means that the water and fat molecules aren’t getting along, so I find that a little time, patience, constant stirring, and pasta water help them get along! A little bit of pasta water will do wonders to reunite the water and fat molecules in this rich sauce!

How to Customize this Recipe

This simple dinner idea can be customized in a plethora of ways. I use chicken breasts in this recipe because I adore chicken alfredo. In addition, you could use steamed broccoli or fresh spinach in your shrimp alfredo!

If you decide to use shrimp, use 8 ounces. Toss them all in the olive oil and cook for one to two minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (a big pinch of each will do).

I would stir in the steamed broccoli or fresh spinach into the sauce approximately three minutes prior to serving. (Note: The broccoli will be extremely tough and unpleasant to eat if it is not cooked [steamed] before stirring it in. ).

If you like a little spice, I’ve also added red pepper flakes to this alfredo pasta recipe—just add 1/4 teaspoon when you stir in the garlic for an extra burst of flavor!

Coming up is Valentine’s Day, when everyone plans to spend a lot of money on dishes they can prepare at home. For me, there’s no point in wasting money on something I can make myself. Before I started becoming creative, my husband and I used to spend more than $60 on a basic dinner at the Olive Garden years ago. I know there are plenty of people who have it easy, and for them, sixty dollars might not seem like much, but since I’m a wife and mother with expenses, I’d prefer to use my sixty dollars for something other than a meal.

A few weeks ago, I created this incredibly simple Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti recipe. As usual, I had a ton of spaghetti pasta in my cabinets, and I also had a few jars of alfredo sauce that I had purchased from Target for $1 apiece. I thought I should give you all a recipe for chicken alfredo since Valentine’s Day is soon. There’s no need to blow all of your cash on eating out and hiring a babysitter. You have the ability to prepare your own Valentine’s Day meal at home!

Typically, when you hear the word “chicken alfredo,” you think of fettucini pasta. For this dish, you can certainly use any type of pasta you like. I simply adore spaghetti, and as I’ve already indicated, I always have some on hand. This meal combines traditional spaghetti with chicken alfredo. I used tomatoes to give them a bright color and a flavorful, sweet kick.

This recipe called for boneless, skinless chicken breasts. But if you don’t like white meat, you can use skinless, boneless chicken thighs.
