In general, microwaving any cup noodles is not recommended. The principal objections to microwave cup noodles are as follows:

  • When microwaved, dangerous chemicals from the containers for cup noodles seep into the noodles. Plastic and Styrofoam cups are composed of materials that melt when exposed to extreme heat. The superheated water used to cook the noodles in the microwave is too much for the containers to handle. Consequently, the noodles and hot soup absorb toxic chemicals from the cup, raising the possibility of a health hazard.
  • The manufacturer usually does not advise heating cup noodles in the microwave as specified on the label. Disregarding the cooking instructions raises the possibility of ingesting substances that could cause cancer.
  • The high temperatures in a microwave weaken the structure of cup noodles. The likelihood that carcinogen chemicals will seep into the food increases when the cup is distorted.

According to the company, the microwaveable noodles can be heated in 2 minutes and 15 seconds and no longer require boiling water to cook.
