Slow Cooker Egg Noodles and Chicken
Alright, so you could also prepare this in a big pot or Dutch oven on your stovetop. However, why is slow cooking the best option when you’re busy? That was all I produced when I first started out as a food blogger. You kind of go back to all those Crock Pot recipes you had as a child because that’s how your mom cooked.
Then you venture out once you get bored. Since then I have made all the things. Yes, the meat tastes fantastic in this dish, but as I grew older, I preferred stronger flavors. Replace water with pickle juice, chicken broth, or in this case, pepperoncini juices to elevate the flavors to a whole new level.
Although wide egg noodles are my favorite, you can really use any kind of pasta to make this Crockpot chicken recipe. I’ll use frozen noodles as well if I have them on hand, and I’ll explain both to you.
Reames Chicken and Noodles
The first steps would need to be cooked on high if you wanted to cook Reames noodles with chicken. Add as much broth to the pot as you like—two to three cups—or enough so that they are completely covered by the liquid. Cook, covered, for a further hour or until they are tender to your taste.
1. Pour enough water into a large pot to completely submerge the frozen egg noodles. 2. Add a pinch of salt to the water for flavor. 3. Bring the water to a rolling boil on high heat. 4. Add frozen Reames noodles to the pot of boiling water. 5. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. 6. Boil for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the food is soft and cooked through. 7. To stop the cooking process, drain them in a colander and rinse with cold water. 8. Pour the ingredients for this recipe into your slow cooker, then stir the chicken and noodles together!
I have made this a few times. Yes, I do enjoy one-pot meals in general and have prepared chicken and noodles in the Instant Pot before, but not this one. I will usually boil them separately because it takes a while to get them tender in the pot, but I will explain how to do it below so you have an option.
