Then you remember that you still have leftover chow mein and get those all-too-common late-night cravings!

However, how can you reheat it without creating a rubbery, mushy mess?

To determine the best technique for reheating chow mein, I tried a few different approaches.

No matter if the dish is made with chicken, rice, or noodles, soy sauce, chili oil, vinegar, and spice powder are added. Chinese cuisine’s fame is due to the perfect umami pairing with the spices.

To extend the shelf life of leftover chicken chow mein or lo mein while maintaining its quality and safety, store it in the refrigerator in sealed containers. Leftover chicken chow mein or lo mein keeps well for three to four days in the refrigerator.

Directions:

  • Make thin pieces of beef.
  • Two tablespoons of cornstarch, one tablespoon of soy sauce, and two tablespoons of oil should be mixed.
  • Pork strips should be covered completely with the mixture before being marinated for 20 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of shortening in a wok or sizable sauté pan. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 2 minutes. Lightly brown the beef in the hot shortening on all sides.
  • Add the remaining 4 tbsp soy sauce and 1-1/2 cups water, then simmer for 45 minutes, covered, over low heat.
  • Add the celery and onions, then simmer for an additional 15 minutes.

  • Completely heat the molasses, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, and mushrooms.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
