Can I use frozen chicken breasts?
The USDA has determined that using frozen meat or poultry in a slow cooker is unsafe. The meat will remain at the dangerous temperature range where bacteria can grow for an extended period of time, which is the cause.
Before you cook the recipe, I would suggest thawing your chicken in the refrigerator for one or two days.
How To Make ~ cassie’s comforting chicken & noodles ~
- 1 Salt & pepper chicken breasts.
- 2 Place in the bottom of Crock Pot.
- 3 Spoon soup over the chicken.
- 4 Divide butter into multiple pats and distribute them equally over soup.
- 5 Whisk the bouillon with the broth.
- 6 Pour over soup.
- 7 Put the Crock Pot’s lid on and set it to low. Cook for 6 hours.
- 8 Remove chicken and tear into pieces.
- 9 Add back to pot.
- 10 Now add noodles; if adding veggies add now. Cook until desired tenderness of noodles, about 2 hours more. I stir a few times during last 2 hours. (As the homemade noodles thicken the broth, which we like, you might want to add extra broth to thin it out at the end of cooking. ) .
- 11 At the conclusion of cooking, sprinkle on the parsley and stir in, if using.
- 12 Salt & pepper, if needed, and serve. Yum!
