Although it may look like chili macaroni, this is a traditional chili recipe with noodles. Usually made with macaroni and cheese, chili mac is a streamlined version of chili that has been modified for speed of preparation. Consider this recipe more like a hearty chili and noodles recipe than a homemade chili mac recipe.

The family of my friend Jessica shared this delicious chili recipe with me. It was a chili that her Wisconsin-born grandmother used to make; apparently, adding spaghetti to chili is a Midwest custom.
