California’s spawning season runs from April to September, while the season near Asia lasts from March to October. These species move to deeper water and unwind during the cooler months.

Once the eggs are released, they combine with the sperm to create a larva, which grows into a new person. Both the eggs and larvae float free on the water. Juveniles stay near the coast till they matured into adults.
