Body Of Proof Final Episode

On the “Body of Proof” finale, Dr. Megan Hunt finally learned the truth.

Dr. Hunts (Dana Delany) father didnt commit suicide –he was murdered. Turns out, Angela Martin, the police chief, killed a woman for stealing her boyfriend 35 years ago and murdered Dr. Hunts dad as part of the cover-up.

“You destroyed my family!” Dr. Hunt said. “And I’ve spent the last 35 years trying to atone for that,” Martin shot back. But it was too late. “Screw you!” Dr. Hunt replied.Advertisement

As Martin was about to go down the murderous path once again, Trent Marsh (Henry Ian Cusick) swooped in, shot Martin and saved Dr. Hunt. But Martin got away and left behind a book, “Silent Anguish,” with a note inside that read “Youre welcome.”

The one silver lining: Tuesday’s episode will tie up a number of loose ends — not the least of which is the long-gestating mystery surrounding the death of Megan’s father — as well as feature a guest appearance by an actor who needs no introduction but he’s getting one anyway: Um, it’s me, people.

“We tried, tried and tried,” Gross told fans on Twitter. “No stone left unturned. No one wanted to keep this show on the air more than ABC Studios and me. We’re all bummed.”

Despite what exec producer Matthew Gross deemed a “valiant effort” by ABC Studios to find the cancelled Dana Delany drama a new home, next Tuesday’s season finale will now serve as a series finale.

It’s official: Body of Proof‘s current third season will be its last — but the show has a few final twists (and a killer cameo!) up its sleeve before it heads six feet under.

The third season finale was finished before ABC officially cancelled the show but the producers certainly knew that Body of Proof could be be canned due to low ratings. Delany added, “I think that everyone in television now knows you need to end your season, because you never know the future of a show, unless you’re Mad Men.”

Delany also noted that the third season ends so well that the cast and crew weren’t sure what a fourth year would have held.

What do you think? Do you think Body of Proof should have been renewed? What could have happened in season four?

Speaking to TV Guide, star Dana Delany shared, “It’s a very satisfying ending… We do solve the mystery of the death of Megan’s father and she finally comes to terms with her feelings for Tommy Sullivan (Mark Valley). And I really, really liked it a lot… I think that the viewers are going to be happy.”
