OTOpenTable DinerOrange County1 review 2.01 reviewDined 4 days agooverall2food2service4ambience4Let me get the good out of the way. The staff was friendly, professional, and engaged. Anyone who has rated the food at the Hogâs Breath higher than 2 stars is simply not being truthful. Perhaps they had a great dining experience w friends and or family but letâs be clearâ¦the food is a step above whatâs served on most airplanes. Arguably Iâve had better meals on airplanes so perhaps Iâm being too critical of airline food. My chicken piccata was funky. The chicken was rubbery. While Iâm convinced it was cooked to the proper temperature, I was definitely acutely aware of the fact that it had a slightly gummy under cooked texture. The sauce was something you could buy at a grocery store. The vegetables that accompanied my dish were sad examples of a region that is known for it excellent produce farming. The broccoli florets were tinged brown not from being heated but because they were poorly chosen from their produce supplier. They never should have been plated. The rice pilafâ¦.well it was cooked properly. Thereâs a reason that we were able to get a last minute reservation on a busy Saturday night and thatâs because this is a tourist trap that just doesnât hold up to its peers in Carmel. I do want to reinforce that the staff was great.

OTOpenTable DinerDenver1 reviewvip 3.01 reviewDined on September 6, 2022overall3food3service3ambience4This was an absolutely adorable place. The food was average and they were short staffed, but still managed to take ok care of us. We were there probably about 30-45 more minutes than we needed to be and luckily we were not in a hurry. There was a sign at the front to let their customers know that wait times might be a little longer.

JSJeannieS1 review 1.01 reviewDined on September 4, 2022overall1food1service1ambience5Food was terrible, please do not fall for this tourist trap. The only thing good about this place is the cozy patio /location. Ahi tuna was more avocado than ahi and had one taste profile, salty. Steak was well done not med rare and the same taste profile, salty. Drinks were watered down but at least not salty lol.. Service was just so so, they served us but they did not seem to enjoy their jobs. We were new to area, did not realize there were so many more options and you really do not need to book ahead of time at his place

SMSeanMOrange County6 reviewsvip 3.06 reviewsDined on August 20, 2022overall3food3service3ambience3We visited during Car Week. They were very busy and seemed to be a little bit understaffed for the larger than normal crowd. This was to be expected. Fun place with good atmosphere. Food was good. Noise level was a bit high , mostly due to busy weekend. Will dine there again in the future.

TXTXDogLoverDallas79 reviewsvip 2.079 reviewsDined on August 20, 2022overall2food2service4ambience4Great atmosphere and our server was great. If you are going there for the food, I would select somewhere else. Two people in our party got the fish and chips which were greasy and heavily breaded, the crab ravioli had thick pasta and very little crab. The only person who enjoyed their meal got a pasta dish with chicken. They definitely need to step it up in the kitchen. Maybe they depend too much on the fact that Clint Eastwood owned the restaurant at one time.

The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.

SWSandraWSan Francisco8 reviews 3.08 reviewsDined on August 12, 2022overall3food3service3ambience4Food was good, but not great. They charged us for a bottle of wine that we sent back without opening since they did not have the wine that we ordered and tried to bring a substitute. They were short handed on staff, so the service was slow, but our waiter was very friendly. Probably will not be back.

DBDeanBToronto2 reviews 4.02 reviewsDined on August 6, 2022overall4food5service4ambience2The food and service were great, but the number of dogs in the restaurant and very large ones who were barking and encroaching on other peoples tables was very disturbing and a complete turn off. If we are to return I would look to see what the restaurant has allowed in the way of number of dogs before taking a table. If I want to eat with that many animals Iâll go to the barn.

EKEllieKRichmond1 review 5.01 reviewDined on July 16, 2022overall5food5service5ambience5We had a very lovely experience with my Husband and 3 year old. Everyone was polite and excellent! Our server, I didnât catch his name, was outstanding and attentive! I know heâs been there for 20+ years so hopefully that narrows it down! The food was great and we stayed warm next to the fireplace. We especially appreciated that patrons with dogs were in a different area than us. We love them however my kiddo gets too rambunctious so being separate from the (briefly) barking and excited dogs. We were better able to redirect her and not harm the dogs in any way. Weâll absolutely return!
