Does Rooster Die On The Ranch

The Ranch Part 8 figures out a way to bring back Danny Masterson’s Rooster Bennett … without actually bringing back Danny Masterson.

In Episode 3, Colt suffers a near-death experience — and on his birthday, no less. He finds himself pinned between his truck and a wind fence on the Peterson property, with no way out. In the following episode, his mind begins to play tricks on him, and his inner voice is represented by Siri. When he starts to lose consciousness, Siri raises its voice… only it’s not Siri.

Yep, it’s Rooster, and he’s coming to Colt all the way from heaven. “I was just in a hot tub with Dale Earnhardt, Merle Haggard and Gandhi,” he says. “Guess who’s got the biggest junk? Spoiler alert: me.”

When Colt starts tearing up, Rooster taunts his brother, just like old times. “Are you gonna cry? Is that how you wanna go out?” he asks. “When I went off that cliff, I was giving double birds the whole way down.”

Colt then says that he’d like to hang out with Rooster and drink together, just like old times — and Rooster tells him that they can do that right now. “Just walk towards the light,” he says. Luckily, the light in the distance isn’t a pathway to heaven, but the headlights on Luke’s car. He and Abby jump out and get Colt out from behind his truck, then rush him to the emergency room where he is ultimately stabilized. He walks away from the accident with mild frostbite and a few sprained ribs.

At the hospital, Abby takes Colt’s phone; she needs his social security number to finish filling out all the paperwork. She opens Notes and finds something that her estranged husband dictated to Siri while he was trapped. “If you got this, it means I didn’t make it,” it reads. “All I’m thinking right now is about you and Peyton. Don’t tell her I was a liar. Please. I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes. Be as angry as you gotta be… Always got angry at myself. And I’m sorry if I ever made you feel like you couldn’t trust me. The worst part is, I never got the chance to prove to you that I changed. I love you.”

The Ranch 8x04Lucky for Colt, the note proves to Abby that he has changed. The following night, at a belated birthday dinner, Abby presents Colt with a series of gifts — including their divorce papers. She tells him that she never signed them. She saw the note on his phone, and it broke her heart knowing that he was still fighting for their relationship while he was on the brink of death. Colt gets up from his seat and kisses his wife, signifying that these two lovebirds are gonna find a way to make it work.

Does Rooster Die On The Ranch

The second half of ‘The Ranch’ Season 3 returned, but without Rooster Bennett. What prompted the exit of Danny Masterson aka Rooster Bennett from Netflix’s ‘The Ranch’? Keep reading to find out!

Netflix‘s original comedy ‘The Ranch’ is officially dead, but people still seem to be unable to process the whole deal surrounding Danny Masterson, or as the “Ranchers” know him, Rooster Bennett. Danny Masterson played one of the Bennett brothers alongside his former co-star Ashton Kutcher. Halfway into season 3 of ‘The Ranch’, Danny Masterson’s character Rooster Bennett was cut off from the show due to some serious allegations against the actor.

It seems like Netflix and the creators of ‘The Ranch’ had no choice other than firing Danny Masterson from the show. The intense decision developed in the midst of a controversy that dragged the actor’s name into the mud. In 2017, Danny Masterson faced accusations of sexual assault, post which the actor was disbarred from the Netflix comedy. Not just one, but multiple women reported against Masterson on accounts of rape, sexual assault as well as domestic violence during the course of his romantic relationships. In fact, one of the women called out the actor for having drugged her and raped her in the state of unconsciousness.

The Masterson scandal soon took on a very public nature and Netflix was being thrown under the bus for not firing the actor. It was just a matter of time, however, before Netflix decided to cut off Masterson’s Rooster Bennett from the rest of ‘The Ranch’ episodes after the actor finished his part 5 run for the series. The act of cutting him out of the show before being proven guilty did not agree with Masterson however. He said in a statement to “The Wrap”, “I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of ‘The Ranch’. From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one. In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty”.

See ya never, Rooster. When Part 6 of The Ranch was released on Friday, December 7, Rooster’s fate was revealed. In case you missed it, Danny Masterson was fired from the series following multiple sexual misconduct allegations in December 2017. At the end of part 5 (the first part of season 3), his character leaves after Nick threatens to kill him if he doesn’t leave town. So, he exits.

Masterson, 42, has been under investigation since March when four women came forward with claims that they had been raped by the actor in the early 2000s. Masterson has denied all claims.

Later in the season, they even hold a memorial for Rooster – one that Colt is too upset to even attend. He completely breaks down when seeing a package that Rooster sent him before he died: a onesie for Colt’s daughter on the way and a thank you note to his brother. Colt gives a touching eulogy at the funeral and the family toasts to Rooster at Maggie’s bar afterward.

When season 3 returns, Ashton Kutcher’s Colt finds out about the threat and fights Nick over it. They later end up at a police station and Officer Wilkerson agrees to help Colt find Rooster. Soon after, they find his motorcycle at the bottom of a cliff. Despite being in complete denial, Colt soon finds out that Rooster died in an accident.
