Im neuen Gunsmith 2.0 Feature schaltest du immer noch einzelne Waffen mit deinem Level frei, dabei gibt es aber eine Besonderheit. Du bekommst direkt Zugriff auf die ganze Waffenplattform mit der dazugehörigen Familie. Das bedeutet, du schaltest die beliebte M4 frei und im Laufe der Zeit bekommst du andere Receiver für die Waffe, die sie zu einem vollkommen anderen Schießeisen derselben Plattform verwandeln.
Außerdem übernimmst du alle deine bisherigen Aufsätze, also musst du nicht mit der neuen Waffe wieder bei 0 anfangen. Dadurch sparst du viel Zeit und kannst schneller auf Veränderungen der Meta reagieren. Einige der Aufsätze schaltest du so für die weitere Verwendung mit der Waffenplattform frei, andere wiederum schaltest du sogar für alle Waffen frei. So musst du nicht den gleichen Griff für jede Waffe aufs Neue freischalten.
Eine weitere Neuerung wurde ebenfalls angekündigt, der Schießstand auf dem du deine neu gebauten Waffen austesten kannst, ohne deine K/D dabei zu riskieren. Dadurch kannst du dich besser an deine Waffen gewöhnen und beispielsweise den Rückstoß lernen.
