All recalled products bear the Establishment #P-963 with use or freeze by dates of July 9, 2011; July 10, 2011; July 11, 2011; July 15, 2011; July 16, 2011; July 21, 2011; July 22, 2011; July 24, 2011; August 1, 2011; and August 4, 2011.

Reason: Cargill Meat Solutions has issued a voluntary Class 1 product recall of a variety offresh ground turkey products due to possible contamination with Salmonella Heidelberg, a bacteria which can cause food borne illness. A full list of recalled products can be found at

Consumer Action: Products purchased since June 18, should be returned to the store for arefund. If you consumed this product and have concerns about illness please contact yourphysician. Always cook ground turkey thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165°F. Thecolor of cooked poultry is not a sure sign of product safety. Use a food thermometer to besure the proper temperature is reached.

There’s a nationwide ground turkey recall affecting two major brands due to possible foreign matter contamination, according to an alert from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Specifically, Butterball, LLC is recalling 14,107 pounds of ground turkey products that may contain pieces of blue plastic.

The ground turkey recall affects products under the Butterball and Kroger brand names. The recalled products include batches of two-and-a-half-pound trays of Farm to Family Butterball All Natural Ground Turkey (93% lean, 7% fat) with a sell- or freeze-by date of October 18, 2021, and a time stamp between 2123 and 2302 printed on the package). The other products covered in the recall are three-pound trays of Kroger Ground Turkey (85% lean, 15% fat) with a sell- or freeze-by date of October 17, 2021, and a time stamp between 2314 and 2351 printed on the package.

All of the recalled ground turkey was produced at the same establishment on September 28, 2021, and shipped to grocery stores and retailers across the country. The FSIS and Butterball first learned about the issue from consumers, who reported finding pieces of blue plastic in their ground turkey products. However, to date, there have been “no confirmed reports” of someone suffering an injury eating one of the recalled products.

The Davenport Community School District have been without internet since last Thursday. The outage is linked to a server issue and is expected to be up shorty, district sys.

Many of the recalled meats are under the label Honeysuckle White, Riverside Ground Turkey, Natural Lean Ground Turkey, Fit & Active Lean Ground Turkey, Spartan Ground Turkey and Shady Brook Farms Ground Turkey Burgers. The recall also includes ground turkey products packaged under the HEB, Safeway, Kroger, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Giant Eagle grocery store brands.

Minnesota-based meat giant Cargill recalled 36 million pounds of fresh and frozen ground turkey products produced at the companys Springdale, Ark., plant from Feb. 20 through Aug. 2.

The recall did not include products identified as fresh ground turkey breast, according to the press release.
