What Does Mareep Evolve Into

Once Trainers have beat the main story of Pokémon BDSP, they can find and catch Mareep within the Grand Underground or by using the PokéRadar.

Mareep is an adorable Electric-Type Wool Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that can evolve into Flaaffy and then into Ampharos once specific conditions are met. While Mareeps utility in battle isnt as appealing as its cuddly appearance, its final evolution form as Ampharos can certainly deliver superior value in combat. There are two primary ways of finding Mareep, yet Trainers must first beat the main story of Pokémon BDSP for these methods to become available.

To complete the base content of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players will need to defeat the Elite Four and the Champion Cynthia. They must also see all 150× Pokémon in the Sinnoh region. Once these two prerequisites have been accomplished, they can head to Sandgem Town and speak with Professor Rowan inside the lab to receive the National Pokédex and PokéRadar, the two items needed for encountering Mareep. Additionally, Trainers shouldnt forget to obtain their radars Chain Counter App, which is acquired from Professor Oak in Ramanas Park.

Using the PokéRadar, players have a 5-20% chance of finding Mareep in Valley Windworks. There is also the possibility of encountering Flaaffy, Mareeps second evolution form in Pokémon BDSP, when using the radar on Route 222. The second way to catch Mareep is by exploring the Grand Underground. First, chat with the Underground Man in Eterna City to gain access to the Grand Underground by acquiring the Explorer Kit. Once Trainers have made their way beneath the surface, they can encounter Mareep within Whiteout Cave, Sunlit Cavern, and Grassland Cave. While its possible to explore every one of these three locations, players can instead focus their search on a single area. By exiting and re-entering a cave, all the Wild Pokémon will reset, renewing the opportunity to find Mareep.

Pokédex descriptionWool PokémonMareep’s fluffy coat of wool rubs together and builds a static charge. The more static electricity is charged, the more brightly the lightbulb at the tip of its tail glows.

Mareep is part of a three-member family.

Physiology

Mareep is a sheep-like Pokémon with fluffy cream-colored wool covering its entire body, as well as a curly tuft of wool in the middle of its head. Its head is blue, and it has black eyes. Its four feet are blue and have two digits on each foot, and it appears to be on tiptoe at all times. Its conical ears and tail have a yellow-and-black striped pattern. Mareep has an orange sphere at the end of its tail, which acts like a small light bulb. This sphere glows brighter the more electricity it has.

Mareeps wool, which grows continuously, stores electricity, rubbing together and building a static charge. Its volume increases when it builds up with electricity. Touching the wool when it is charged will result in a static shock. During the summer, the fleece is shed, but it grows back in a week. Air is also stored in its fur, which allows it to stay cool during summer and warm during winter. It tends to avoid battle in the wild and have mild dispositions. Mareep is most often found in grassy fields, though it can also be found in farms where its wool is used in high-quality clothing.
