Catch it in:
Evolved from: Charmander (at level 16) Evolves into: Charizard (at level 36)
Locations: There is no wild Charmeleon to be found in the Game Boy titles. You need to directly evolve Charmeleon from Charmander.
This Pokémon naturally learns the following techniques:
LV 01 – Scratch LV 01 – GrowlLV 09 – Ember LV 15 – Leer LV 24 – Rage LV 33 – Slash LV 42 – Flamethrower LV 56 – Fire Spin
Tips: Charmeleon is basically just a more pumped up version of Charmander. Its stats still cant come close to Wartortles or Ivysaurs, but its just as fast as ever. Like Charmander, it learns Ember, a very useful attack, at level 9. Remember that youre best served evolving Charmander into Charmeleon as late as possible (it learns its last technique at level 46). As far as HMs and TMs go, Charmeleon is able to learn the same stuff as Charmander, like Rest, Swift, Dig, Dragon Rage, Seismic Toss, Toxic, and so on.

When fighting against Charmeleon, remember that it cant last long against Water, Ground or Rock Pokemon. Stay away from Fire, Grass, Ice and Bug Pokemon and attack it with standard Water and Ground techniques like Surf or Dig to knock it out quickly. A good technique for high-level Charmeleon users who are up against equally high opponents is to use Fire Spin in conjunction with potentially status-altering techniques like Toxic or Flamethrower. You know the drill: first poison or burn your opponent, then continuously use Fire Spin to drain the HP of the enemy Pokemon.

This Pokémon can learn the following HMs and TMs:
TM 01 – Mega Punch TM 03 – Swords Dance TM 05 – Mega Kick TM 06 – Toxic TM 08 – Body Slam TM 09 – Take Down TM 10 – Double Edge TM 17 – Submission TM 18 – Counter TM 19 – Seismic Toss TM 20 – Rage TM 23 – Dragon Rage TM 28 – Dig TM 31 – Mimic TM 32 – Double Team TM 33 – Reflect TM 34 – BideTM 38 – Fire Blast TM 39 – Swift TM 40 – Skull Bash TM 44 – Rest TM 50 – Substitute HM 01 – Cut HM 04 – Strength
OffenseAdvantage: Grass, Ice, BugDisadvantage: Fire, Water, Rock, Dragon DefenseAdvantage: Fire, Grass, BugDisadvantage: Water, Ground, Rock
Origin: Though it cant really change its color, Charmeleon gets its name from the word “char” (burn) and the lizard Chameleon.

What level does Charmeleon evolve at?

Charmeleon is a two-legged, reptile-like Pokémon. The chest and stomach area, as well as the front part of the abdomen and the lower part of the tail are beige in color. The rest of the body turns red. The Fire-type Pokémon has an agile body and the triangular eyes are made up of white leather skin, blue irides and black pupils.

What Level Does Charmeleon Evolve In Fire Red

The mouth is relatively wide and reveals four sharp teeth when open. As is typical for reptiles, Charmeleon does not have a nose, but nostrils. The upper jaw is pushed forward slightly like a beak. Its upper arms are thinner than its forearms and it has three pointed, white claws on its hands as on its feet.

The flame on Charmeleon’s tail is an important part of its physique. It is an indicator of the mood of a Charmeleon.

Charmeleon, together with its evolutionary line, has a very narrow distribution spectrum and is only native to Kanto and Kalos. But even there, it is extremely rare to find it in the wild and is used much more as a starter Pokémon in these regions. For this reason, most Charmander and its evolutions are owned by Pokémon Trainers and are bred and raised almost exclusively for this purpose.

This Pokémon is very wild, combative, and extremely brutal. The formerly friendly and good-natured nature of Charmander has completely disappeared with his evolution. Charmeleon is therefore constantly looking for new opponents. In a fight, it hits its opponents with its tail and then slashes them with its razor-sharp claws. It only calms down when it wins. When it encounters strong opponents, it becomes angry and the flame on the tip of its tail flickers with a bluish tone. If this Pokémon gets so excited, it only spits glaring flames and sometimes sets its surroundings on fire.

Now that we know the basic aspects of Charmeleon as a Pokémon, we can answer the question from the title of this section. Charmeleon evolves into Charizard starting at level 36. We are going to explain the exact mechanism in the following sections.

Glutexo is a Stage I Pokémon and the evolution of Charmander. It evolves into Charizard, which has two further Mega evolutions, as of Generation VI, and a Gigantamax form, as of Generation VIII. During the evolution process, the main characteristics of Charmander are retained (tail with a flame, orange-colored skin tone, beige-colored belly) while new elements are added (larger stature, claws on the fingers, horn-like head element, larger flame, wings) along with a visible maturation process.

In the games of the main series, the evolution from Charmander to Charmeleon is triggered at level 16, and that to Charizard at level 36. The simplest way to do it is, thus, fighting with your Charmeleon as much as possible, grinding as much EXP as possible, and getting your Charmeleon to level 36 as quickly as possible. If you have them and want to reach level 36 even quicker, you can also feed your Charmeleon some Rare Candy to make it go up a level.

Ash Ketchum owns a Charizard, who is currently in training in Charicific Valley. At one time, Ashs Charizard was disobedient, never listened to any of his commands, and cost him several battles. After a battle with a Poliwrath, in which he was frozen by an Ice Beam, he was defrosted by Ash, the Charizard decided to behave himself. Charizard is currently Ashs strongest Pokémon, albeit still training to become stronger. It has defeated legendaries, such as Articuno and Entei, and has much more potential.

Charizard is a large dragon-like Pokémon that differs greatly from its pre-evolved form. The red skin color of Charmeleon is no longer apparent, as Charizard appears to have reverted back to the orange color of Charmander. The single horn that was on the back of its head is now two, one on either side. The most notable difference between Charizard and its pre-evolved forms are the large wings that have developed on its back. Given its dragon-like appearance, it makes sense that Charizard is capable of learning many Dragon-type moves.
