Why Did Fez And Nate Have Beef

The season premiere of Euphoria held nothing back. Like previous episodes of the show, the episode gave a detailed backstory to one of the main characters, this time Fez (played by Angus Cloud)—the local drug dealer who often hangs out with Rue (and attends the high school parties). We find out more about his childhood (or lack of one), plus his grandmother, and Ashtray. Fez’s episode was inevitable after his wild end to season one, when he violently robbed a man to pay his drug supplier.

Of course, Fez’s past is also interspersed with all the drama unfolding in the present at a New Year’s Eve party. And after the intense Season 1 finale, the characters have a lot of unresolved conflicts. Much of said conflicts come from the villainous football player Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), who’s schemed his way into becoming the Most Hated Character on the show. And within the first episode of Season 2, it looks like he still wants to cause mayhem among his classmates and friends. He made out with his ex-girlfriend Maddy’s best friend, Cassie, and antagonized his friend McKay. It makes you wonder who keeps inviting him to all these parties if all he wants to do is ruin people’s lives.

So it wasn’t too surprising when Fez decided to ring in the New Year by beating Nate unconscious. Still, it’s been two years since the last Euphoria episode, so it’s easy to forget all the drama that went down. But in case you need a refresher, we have the answers you need.

So Fez beat up Nate in retaliation for putting his drug dealing business, livelihood, and life on the line.

What Happened Between Fez and Nate in Euphoria Season 1?

The most likely reason for this beatdown goes back to season one. Nate, who youll recall is an extremely troubled and abusive teenager, catfishes Jules (Hunter Schafer) after finding out she hooked up with his dad, and begins to blackmail her with photos she sent him. As a result, Rue tries to make him pay for what he did, enlisting Fez to scare Nate. Being the quietly intimidating person he is, Fez tells Nate, in no uncertain terms, that he needs to stay away from Rue and Jules because Rue is his family and he protects his own.

From Lexis perspective, we see Fez as he gears up for an escape. After calling Ashtray and telling him to start the car, he took off his sweater and headed to the kitchen, where Nate was drinking a beer. Its apparent in Lexis facial expression as she watches Fez that somethings about to go down. Fez grabs a drink and talks to Nate, who recalls that he threatened to kill him the last time they spoke. They then say “cheers” for a drink as Fez smashes a liquor bottle to Nates head and starts throwing punches.

At the end of the episode, its unclear whether Nate is alive as Maddy, McKay, and others carry him away to Cutting Crews song, “(I Just) Died in Your Arms.” According to Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate, we see more of his life at home — so this may not be the end for him just yet.

Naturally, season 2 started with a packed house party for New Years Eve where Maddy pulled up in a fabulous look, Jules was looking for Rue, and Nate caused a little (okay, a lot of) trouble. By the end of the episode, he was brutally beaten up by Fez, who initially spent a majority of the party talking to Lexi on the couch. Some fans expressed that Nate had it coming on social media, but if youre one of the viewers who need a bit of a refresher on why it even went down, look no further.

In season 1, Nate caused a lot of trouble for multiple characters, including Jules, who he catfished as a revenge tactic for sleeping with his dad. At the time, Jules had been keeping her distance from Rue, who had a feeling that what went down between Jules and Nate had something to do with it. During a visit with Fez, Rue asks him to intimidate Nate into leaving Jules alone with a gun. Fez refuses to use a weapon, but he confronts Nate when he stops by the convenience store he works at. He explains that Rue is his family and that he wants Nate to stay away from Rue and her friends. Nate was then threatened and insulted Fez by calling him a dropout that will “never amount to anything.” During the scene, Fez remains calm but reiterates to Nate that if he messes with Rules again, hell be met with his demise.

Euphoria is back in full swing… literally. The highly-anticipated season 2 premiere of HBOs hit teen drama wasted no time in kicking off with chaos. In true Euphoria fashion, the first episode dived into the story of Fez, East Highlands drug dealer. He wasnt always in the business, but started at a young age as his grandma took him under her wing. Fans also got a glimpse into how his young business partner, Ashtray, came into the picture.

Euphoria: Why Did Fez Beat Up Nate?

Watch out! This post contains spoilers.

Euphoria season two only just began, but the season is already off to a raucous start. In the Jan. 9 premiere, the East Highland High students meet up for a New Years Eve party where Rue (Zendaya) struggles with her addiction while befriending a new face, Elliot, who she bonds with over their mutual interest in drugs. Meanwhile, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) hooks up with Nate (Jacob Elordi), and Lexi (Maude Apatow) spends the whole evening chatting with Fez (Angus Cloud) on a couch. That is, until Fez approaches Nate and gives him a beating so bloody that the party screeches to a halt. Then, saying nothing, Fez exits.
