Why Does Fezco Beat Up Nate

Euphoria fans are no doubt still trying to recover from the jaw-dropping ending of the premiere episode of Season 2. Just moments before the episode concluded, an angry-looking Fez (played by Angus Cloud) casually made his way over to Nate (Jacob Elordi), who had become something of a nemesis of his.

Under the guise of wishing Nate a Happy New Year and talking about their resolutions, Fez swung his glass bottle across Nates head and punched him to the ground, leaving him covered in blood and unconscious for the entire party to see.

Newcomers to the world of Euphoria and some Euphoria fans (after, all it has been two years since Season 1 ended) were left wondering the true reason behind Fezs violent outburst against Nate. His attack did seem to come out of nowhere and he did not indicate as to why he was out to take down Nate. Luckily, Newsweek has everything you need to know.

So Fez beat up Nate in retaliation for putting his drug dealing business, livelihood, and life on the line.

Euphoria: Why Did Fez Beat Up Nate?

Watch out! This post contains spoilers.

Euphoria season two only just began, but the season is already off to a raucous start. In the Jan. 9 premiere, the East Highland High students meet up for a New Years Eve party where Rue (Zendaya) struggles with her addiction while befriending a new face, Elliot, who she bonds with over their mutual interest in drugs. Meanwhile, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) hooks up with Nate (Jacob Elordi), and Lexi (Maude Apatow) spends the whole evening chatting with Fez (Angus Cloud) on a couch. That is, until Fez approaches Nate and gives him a beating so bloody that the party screeches to a halt. Then, saying nothing, Fez exits.

So it wasn’t too surprising when Fez decided to ring in the New Year by beating Nate unconscious. Still, it’s been two years since the last Euphoria episode, so it’s easy to forget all the drama that went down. But in case you need a refresher, we have the answers you need.

Of course, Fez’s past is also interspersed with all the drama unfolding in the present at a New Year’s Eve party. And after the intense Season 1 finale, the characters have a lot of unresolved conflicts. Much of said conflicts come from the villainous football player Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), who’s schemed his way into becoming the Most Hated Character on the show. And within the first episode of Season 2, it looks like he still wants to cause mayhem among his classmates and friends. He made out with his ex-girlfriend Maddy’s best friend, Cassie, and antagonized his friend McKay. It makes you wonder who keeps inviting him to all these parties if all he wants to do is ruin people’s lives.

The season premiere of Euphoria held nothing back. Like previous episodes of the show, the episode gave a detailed backstory to one of the main characters, this time Fez (played by Angus Cloud)—the local drug dealer who often hangs out with Rue (and attends the high school parties). We find out more about his childhood (or lack of one), plus his grandmother, and Ashtray. Fez’s episode was inevitable after his wild end to season one, when he violently robbed a man to pay his drug supplier.

In retaliation, Nate anonymously calls the police on Fez, who hastily has to dispose of his stash and money. To make up for the lost cash, Fez then robs a man to pay his own supplier in the season finale. Considering everything he knows about Nate, it’s easy to deduce who called the cops and caused the root of Fez’s problems.
