But while old and returning heroes can now choose which WoW expansion to quest through on alts, they are forced to complete some mandatory and repetitive intro storylines before going elsewhere on each new character. Players could previously skip it all by using a mage portal or taking a secret teleporter in Pandaria, but those both require a character be at least level 30 now. However, theres still another way to get around the intro questline even at level 10.
First, players need to find Chromie who will be at the Allied Race embassy in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Speak to her and select “The Iron Horde” from Chromies Timewalking Campaigns. Afterwards, the follow-up quest will direct everyone to the Blasted Lands thanks to a teleport from a Vanguard Battlemage. This NPC will be inside Stormwinds Mage Tower or within Orgrimmars Pathfinders Den.
Normally, players talk to Khadgar and begin the intro after a short cutscene. Thats not going to happen this time. since players need to abandon their quest. Make sure theres nothing related to “Assault on the Dark Portal” in the logs before walking through the big red portal. Note that players may aggro several elite World of Warcraft mobs before running through, so mount up and use defensive cooldowns if necessary.

While this skip is convenient for most of the community, newcomers and players that havent quested in Draenor yet should go through the intro because of the massive amount of EXP they get in a short period of time. Furthermore, not doing the questline means missing out on the plot factors that drive characters like Khadgar throughout Warlords of Draenors entire story. In the long run, however, skipping the intro wont set players back very far considering Warlords of Draenor still holds the title for fastest leveling.

If this quest is not available, travel to the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands and speak with Khadgar to start the quest. To pick up where you left off in the introduction to Warlords of Draenor questline, travel back to the Blasted Lands. Once in the zone, travel to the Dark Portal. Dismount and run through the Dark Portal to enter the Tanaan Jungle starting zone scenario. The game will automatically port you to the area you reached when you were last in the zone.
If you have out-levelled the zone, make sure all quests are showing by clicking the magnifying glass on your mini-map and ticking the Trivial Quests box. This makes markers for quests show up on the world map, mini-map, and on NPCs, even if they are irrelevant for your characters level.
If you have Trivial Quests tracked, but still cannot see any zone quests on the map, but do not have the zone achievement, you should perform a user interface reset to resolve any possible display or interface issues.
