Below is a step by step process of how to tie duck boots or the “Eastland Knot”.
If you are like me you got a pair of duck boots for Christmas. The shoes come pre-tied with the “Eastland Knot” but I wanted a little more support on my ankles. The first thing I did was untie the laces because I wanted the ankles to be tighter. My sister (who also got a pair of boots) freaked out and was like “what if you don’t get them to look like that?” I just told her “I’ll figure it out!” …and I did!
Voila, now you know! Don’t worry if it takes you a couple of times! I know I didn’t get it on my first try.
Step 1: Make a loop – this can be a little harder than it looks. It needs to be longer than you think in order to complete step two.

To tie Bean boots with an Eastland knot, make a 1-inch loop in the left lace as close to the eyelet as possible. Next, wrap the end of that lace back around the loop to hold it in place. Keep wrapping until you’re almost out of lace, then bring the end of the lace through the loop and tighten. Do the same thing on the right side, and now you can adjust each side by scrunching or loosening the wrapped parts of the knot! Keep reading for tips on how to lace up your Bean boots!
